I’m Allison Kolafa, a Houston newborn photographer specializing in safe, timeless newborn photography for families in Houston, Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood, and The Woodlands. I capture your baby’s first days in a calm, baby-led studio environment where safety, comfort, and beautiful details are always the priority.

With over 22 years of photography experience and specialized newborn safety training, I provide a relaxed experience and handcrafted images you’ll treasure for a lifetime.




The Newborn Photography Experience


All props provided

Your newborn session is thoughtfully styled and fully customized. I provide all wraps, props, backgrounds, and accessories, allowing you to relax while I gently guide your session at your baby’s pace.

Newborn photography is best scheduled within the first 4–14 days, when babies are naturally sleepy and easily posed.




Studio Location


Newborn sessions take place in my professional studio located in Humble, TX, conveniently serving families throughout Houston and surrounding areas.

Once you book, your due date is tentatively placed on my calendar. After delivery, simply notify me and we’ll schedule your session within 14 days.




How Long Is a Newborn Session?


Newborn sessions typically last up to 3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddles, and breaks. My sessions are never rushed — your baby’s comfort and safety always come first.

Sibling and family images are captured at the beginning of the session when applicable. For safety and flow, I kindly request an additional adult be present to supervise older siblings.




Consultation & Preparation


Before your session, we’ll discuss styling, colors, props, and overall vision. Once booked, you’ll receive a Newborn Prep Guide with helpful tips so you feel confident and prepared for your baby’s first photo session.

Image Viewing & Ordering


Your fully retouched images will be ready for viewing within 3 weeks. Galleries remain active for 90 days.

Additional digital images may be purchased for $25 each, or $150 for the full gallery. Professional print products are available but never required.




Booking Retainer


A $50 non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session and is applied toward your balance. Remaining balance is due on the session date.

All purchases are subject to 8.25% Texas sales tax.
